Overview
Key Facts and Outcomes
- The aim of Medical University of Vienna's Applied Medical Aesthetics degree program is quality assurance in minimally invasive aesthetic medicine at the required scientific level.
- The background is that in many commercially offered weekend courses, minimally invasive aesthetic medicine is reduced to purely practical applications, and its results are not guaranteed because evidence-based data needs to be taken into account.
- At present, the quality of the treatment offer and the evaluation of the results are provided subjectively by patient evaluation portals, which also supports advertising measures.
- As such, research is urgently needed to identify the scientifically proven basis of the treatment methods and result assessment so objectively secured values can be created without undermining the importance of the patient assessment.
