Degree Options
The Electrical Engineering programme at the University of Cape Town offers a number of special postgraduate courses each year some of which are scheduled to facilitate attendance by practising engineers from industry.
The majority of courses are full-time and cover a variety of topics. The Master of Science in Engineering can be either by dissertation only or by coursework (approved by your supervisor) and dissertation.

General requirements
- An appropriate four-year Bachelors degree or Honours equivalent is required; but applicants who are holders of three-year qualifications plus a minimum of 5 years relevant senior working experience (post Bachelors qualification) may be considered for admission.
- Certified copies of official academic transcripts in ENGLISH (full transcripts for each tertiary institution attended)
- Certified copies of degree certificates in ENGLISH (for each tertiary institution attended where applicable)
- Applicants from universities situated in non-English speaking countries: TOEFL/IELTS certificate OR letter from previous tertiary institution stating “English as medium of instruction” for the programme
- Curriculum vitae (include work experience)
