About the program
The Applied mathematics master program at University of Southern Denmark is the only one in Denmark dedicated to applied mathematics.
- Already as a student, you will get the opportunity to work with challenging research issues and collaborate with industry
- The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science hosts the SDU eScience Centre, which gives researchers and students access to one of Denmark's high-performance computer clusters
- The teachers are close to the students and are always open to questions and discussion
- In applied mathematics, it is the application task that drives the research efforts. Hence, applied mathematics is not restricted to any subarea of mathematics but rather requires a broad mathematical education as a working basis and the willingness to constantly learn new things.

General requirements
To apply for the Master's degree programme in Applied Mathematics, you need a relevant Bachelor's degree:
- BSc in Applied Mathematics from SDU – gives you a legal claim for admission
When you finish a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Southern Denmark you have a legal claim for admission to the Master's degree programme if you apply within three years after obtaining your Bachelor's degree.
You can also apply if you hold one of the following Bachelor's degrees from SDU:
- BSc in Mathematics
- BSc in Mathematics-Economics
Additionally, you can apply if you hold a similar degree including at least 50 ECTS within mathematics, numerical analysis and statistics.
