Overview

The Applied Psychology major in the Northeast Normal University was awarded as the National First-class Major in 2019 and officially recognized as Provincial University Training Center for Talented Students in Fundamental Disciplines in 2020.

Key facts

Psychologists Yuanhui Chen, Qing Yang, Zhanji Guo and others made great efforts not only to form a solid foundation but also to contribute the development of NENU’s psychology major. The Psychology Undergraduate program in NENU was initiated in 1980, then the Master program in 1981. The Department of Psychology was established in NENU in 1994. The Doctoral program in Developmental and Educational Psychology was initiated in 2003, then the Doctoral program in Psychology in 2011. The Post-Doctoral Research Station in Psychology was established in 2014. The School of Psychology in NENU was independently recognized in 2017.

General requirements

Non-Chinese citizens.

Applicants should be excellent in their studies, self-conduct, be healthy mentally and physically and obey Chinese laws and regulations.

Applicant should be under 40 years old and have already obtained a bachelors degree or equivalent education.

For Chinese who emigrated abroad, they must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for 4 years or more, and within the last four years (before April 30, 2022), the record of living abroad should be more than 2 years (The actual residence abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year based on the entry and exit stamps).
