Overview
Graduates from the Pharmaceuticals and Health Supplies Management program from Makerere University should be able to communicate well with clients and members of the health care team, continue as life long learners and to advance the field of pharmacy through research.
At the end of the program the graduates should have achieved the following outcome objectives;
- To be able to carry out research in pharmaceuticals and health supplies
- To be able to provide expert advice in the practice of safe, responsible and cost-effective use of pharmaceuticals and health supplies within different care-settings
- To be able to contribute to the development and evaluation of pharmaceutical policy, treatment guidelines and protocols
- To design, set up and maintain an inventory-system in the pharmacy and in the hospital, which guarantees the in time availability of pharmaceuticals and health supplies and minimizes spillage, expiration and inappropriate use
- To keep their knowledge and skills up to date through continuing professional development and research
