About Physics at Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology

Graduates from the department have gone on to distinguished careers in science and occupy leading positions in research institutes in Tamilnadu and all over India. It soon evolved into an advanced centre for research with outstanding work in condensed matter physics, crystal growth ,nano materials, Dielectric materials, Bio materials, Drug design, and spectroscopy.The department has continued this tradition of excellence and has now become an recognized center for research in condensed matter physics, FTIR studies, TGA studies. Many of the faculty members have received national and international recognition and several occupy high positions in national and international institutions.Apart from teaching physics courses for B.E/B.Tech branches, They are guiding students in their projects and theses, and faculties actively engage in regular seminars and discussion forums and popular talks. Regular visits of experts and scholars from Academia and industry for technical and popular talks add to the vibrant academic culture of sharing and collaboration. The students of the Science Club organize School on wheels to develop the science on rural villages. The school on wheel class is based on project-based physics and concept-based physics.
