Overview
The Botany program of The University of Lahore integrates advanced coursework with extensive research so you can develop the skills to tackle critical issues in plant science, biotechnology, and environmental management.
In the first two semesters, you will engage in core courses such as Advanced Biostatistics & Computing, Advanced Recombinant DNA Technology, Advanced Analytical Techniques, and Advanced Plant Physiology. These courses create your base in research methodologies and plant sciences. You will also have the opportunity to tailor your studies through electives such as Plant Cellular Signaling, Biodiversity and Conservation, Nitrogen Biological Fixation, Agrostology, and Experimental Design, allowing you to specialise in areas of your interest.
The final two semesters are dedicated to your research thesis, where you will conduct original research, contributing to advancements in botany and related fields. With access to our cutting-edge facilities and collaborations with the Centre for Research in Molecular Medicine (CRiMM), you will be well-prepared to contribute to the growing body of knowledge in plant biology and address global challenges like climate change and food security.

- 16/17 years of education, 5/4 year degree (MBBS, BDS, Pharm D, BSN, DPT, DDNS, DMLS, MID, DOVS, DVM) or 16 years of education, MSc 2-Year, BS 4-Year degree (Biology, Microbiology, Zoology, Physiology, Biochemistry, Human Nutrition, Biotechnology or equivalent) from HEC recognised university with minimum 2.5/4.0 CGPA
- UOL entry test/interview is mandatory.
- BTech in the relevant discipline
- Entry test is mandatory as per PEC guidelines.
