Government from The University of the West Indies aims to provide research training in a manner that fosters the development of independent research skills in candidates. These skills include the capacity to formulate a significant problem, to develop a mastery of appropriate conceptual and methodological skills, and to relate the research topic to a broader framework of knowledge in the relevant disciplinary area.
Students at Government from The University of the West Indies will:
- develop in-depth knowledge, expertise and skills through the application of research to national and international problems and issues.
- design and gain experience in implementation of research methodologies and make contributions to any existing body of knowledge by applying, clarifying or interpreting that knowledge.
