Government from The University of the West Indies aims to provide research training in a manner that fosters the development of independent research skills in candidates. These skills include the capacity to formulate a significant problem, to develop a mastery of appropriate conceptual and methodological skills, and to relate the research topic to a broader framework of knowledge in the relevant disciplinary area.

Students at Government from The University of the West Indies will:

develop in-depth knowledge, expertise and skills through the application of research to national and international problems and issues.

design and gain experience in implementation of research methodologies and make contributions to any existing body of knowledge by applying, clarifying or interpreting that knowledge.
