Programme description

The Coatings and Ceramics programme at The University of Manchester is part of a progressive research area within the Department; we have close links with industry and research councils and we work collaboratively with them on many areas of research within the subject. Research activities in this area are concerned with the development, understanding and evaluation of advanced ceramics and coatings.

A research degree from the Department and the University is held in the highest esteem and recognised worldwide. Many of our graduates work in the most prestigious institutions and organisations throughout the world, and much of the Department's research has a significant impact on society and commerce.

The Department provides first-class opportunities and facilities for our students to study specific subjects in-depth to a postgraduate research degree level.
