Medicinal Chemistry (Part Time) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University integrates academic development strategies with industry needs for high-quality medicinal chemists. Our aim is to train the professionals who will receive a broad base of chemical knowledge, including but not limited to:

- Solving key chemical challenges such as antibacterial resistance and human ageing
- Obtaining extensive practical experience and familiarity with modern instrumental, laboratory, and computational techniques
- Engaging in the design and synthesis of novel drug candidates
- Carrying out independent and creative R&D of new drugs in academic and industrial settings
- Understanding pertinent regulatory affairs, intellectual property regulations and related aspects of pharmaceutical manufacturing and development.

General requirements
- An undergraduate degree in chemistry, biological sciences, pharmaceutical science or related discipline.
The minimum entry requirements for all masters programmes:
CHINA- Top 100 of 2022 Shanghai Ranking or World-class universities or First-class disciplines (MoE, People’s Republic of China): 75 percent or above (Weighted Average Mark)
- Other universities: 80 – 85 percent or above (Weighted Average Mark), depending on your undergraduate institution
- UK upper second class honours (2:1) or equivalent
- 3.0 Cumulative GPA (out of 4) or
- 3.2 Cumulative GPA in the final two years of your undergraduate programme
