The SOS Master’s Program in Sustainable Architecture and Design consists of two phases which bring theory and practice together: the Foundations Courses and the Project Tracks.
The first part running from October to January features the “Foundations Courses”, designed to provide students with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to address the challenges of the future targeting sustainable environments with an open-minded, holistic, research-driven, human-centred approach targeting sustainable environments. These courses train students to become specialized professionals in the field of sustainability. Students are required to successfully complete 4 out of 6 Foundations Courses.
The selection of the specific courses will be based on the background and interests of the students and will prepare SOS Master’s Students for the second, project-based, part of the program
The SOS Foundations Courses, while part of the full-time Master’s Program, are also available as Single Courses to be taken individually. The SOS community wants to be inclusive to young professionals who are not able to enroll in the full-time course but still want to tap into the SOS experience. Students can therefore select one or more of our six Foundations Courses ranging from two to eight weeks.
The second phase running from February to June is dedicated to the “Project Tracks”.
In close collaboration with the professionals from the MC A Research and Development Department as well as SOS Institutional, Commercial and Industrial Partners, we offer students the opportunity to experience the entire life cycle of a real professional project, working in teams through a multidisciplinary approach with the collaboration of experts, specialists and industry partners. The outcomes of the projects will be presented by each working group at the end of the program in a public event.
The specific subjects of the Project Tracks are defined and presented to our Master’s Students by SOS instructors and change year to year in light of trends and developments of the firm itself which fall within 4 distinct themes.
SOS Master's Program is a non-accredited post-graduate that emulates a 60-credit academic offering bringing together theoretical courses and extensive hands-on practice.
In the end, the student will receive a certificate of successful completion of the Master's Program with the skills acquired to become a Consultant in the Field of Sustainable Architecture, Design and Engineering.
