Overview
Students learn different practical and powerful approaches to model, understand and predict responses of complex materials and structures encountered almost all engineering disciplines.
The entire Computational Mechanics of Materials and Structures programme from University of Stuttgart can be studied in English and takes two years (four semesters) including a master thesis. COMMAS has been designed to be a very compact graduate program. It attracts also people who already have finished other studies to gain expertise in the promising field of Computational Mechanics of Materials and Structures.
What job prospects are available to me after graduation?
Graduates of this program can apply their knowledge in almost all engineering problems. Examples are simulation of automobile crash tests, prediction of failure load of materials, modeling biological tissues, development of functional materials to be used in robotics among others. COMMAS is a strongly research oriented program. Therefore the students are also ideally prepared for careers at universities, laboratories and research centers.
