Overview
The taught component at the beginning of the Theatre Studies programme of study at the University of Malta will help you to acquire the necessary tools to undertake and complete such a project through a discussion of the academic, ethical, political and practical implications of undertaking research in Theatre Studies.
Much of the research will be considered as independent study, but you will be assigned one or more supervisors who will oversee the research process, from focusing on an area to planning their work, and researching and writing a dissertation.
The specific research will depend on your specific interests as well as staff specialization and strategic research areas earmarked by the department. You will be required to write either a 50,000- or 30,000-word dissertation supporting a practice-as-research project.
