Overview
The Training Program for Global Innovators in Life Sciences - Biosystems Science from Hokkaido University is taught by faculty members spanning four separate departments (School of Science, School of Agriculture, School of Medicine and Faculty of Advanced Life Science) and six research institutions (Institute of Low Temperature Science, Research Institute for Electric Science, Institute for Genetic Medicine, Catalytic Research Center, National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology, National Institute for Materials Science).
The school's main objective is to educate and foster the development of students with multi-disciplinary views beyond the conventional boundaries of life sciences.
International students
The course runs an international graduate program (IGP) together with the Transdisciplinary Life Science Course, aiming to educate students to become leaders with a global perspective. A special quota of the MEXT (Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) scholarship is available for oversea students. For self-financing students, a JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship program is available.
