Forest and Environmental Policy from Yeungnam University provides students with an opportunity to explore diverse environmental issues including deforestation and to pursue the solutions for these problems across different academic disciplines, based on fundamental understanding of the factors causing such problems.

• gain theoretical knowledge and practical competence who will lead the restoration and management of damaged forest in developing countries due to the expansion of grassland and farmland for livestock raising and for crop cultivation, respectively, by sharing the successful experience of Saemaul Undong and forest rehabilitation projects of Korea in 1970s.

• study the importance of forest resources for sustainable development and learn about the preservation and utilization of forest resources as well as the restoration of damaged forest through which they understand and practice a new paradigm of forest management.
