Overview
About this Degee
The curriculum covers the theoretical knowledge and practical know-how required by hospital medical physicists working in patient diagnosis and treatment, and by medical physicists working in leading positions within companies that develop and manufacture innovative medical technology. Students study the requirements of section 28 of the Austrian Radiation Protection Ordinance and will be qualified to act as a radiation safety officer.
Medical Physics graduates from the Medical University of Vienna will also be certified and licensed by the Austrian government as qualified medical physicists to independently carry out all of the medical physics activities which come under the Austrian Radiation Protection Ordinance for Applications in Medicine.

- an Austrian degree (diploma or doctorate) in physics, technical physics or electrical engineering (with electives in electro-medical engineering).Graduates with BSc degrees in physics are required to provide attendance records for a ten contact-hour atomic and nuclear physics course.Graduates of related studies shall refer to the respective entry requirements as pointed out in the curriculum.
