Department of Civil Engineering, University of Peradeniya has excellent testing facilities for

laboratory and fieldwork related to Geotechnical Engineering. The The Geotechnical Engineering MScEng/PGDip programme offered at University of Peradeniya will be taught by a team of highly qualified academic staff. State of art computer software is available for analytical and design work.

Vision

The vision of the Department of Civil Engineering is to acquire, promote, develop and disseminate knowledge and application of civil engineering in particular to produce engineers with skills and attitudes who attain competence as professional engineers providing leadership in the national and international arena and to interact with local industry and community for sustainable development leading to enhanced quality of life while preserving national heritage.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering specializing in Civil Engineering with First or Second class honours from a recognized University or
A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering specializing in Civil Engineering with acceptable postgraduate qualifications or
A Degree or such other qualification as approved by the Faculty Higher Degrees Committee as suitable for candidature for MSc.Eng./ PG.Dip. with a minimum of one year experience, after obtaining the Degree or such qualification, in a field related to the programme of study.
