Overview

The Department of History and Tourism has been started in the academic year (2016-17). It is a pioneering venture of the university devoted to the cause of historical study with a view to contribute to research in History.

The BHSC’s mission is to make a deep imprint on the historical world of India by creating awareness among the general public about History through various activities like camps, lectures, workshops etc., by receiving the patronage and co-operation of scholars of national and international repute.

Programme Outcomes (POs)

The successful completion of the History MA programme offered at Bharathiar University will:

Impart knowledge in political and social setup at national and global level.

Demonstrate the knowledge of the concepts in political and social History.

Provide knowledge in cultural History

Create the sense of responsibility in nation building
