 Statistics MSc programme at Bharathiar University is committed to provide quality curriculum for students so as to enhance their capabilities in evolving new theories through research with reference to problems of social, biological and industrial environments. Apart from domain knowledge, the department inculcates the statistical software skills among the students a global vision with international competence. 

Key facts

The members of faculty are associated with Professional and Academic bodies in Statistics at the International/National level and have represented in the administrative and academic bodies of the university. They presently hold the administrative positions in addition to their regular work and further engage in assignments with UGC, CSIR, UPSC, TNPSC and other academic institutions / universities in India for the development of Statistics Education as a whole. 

With a dedicated team of faculty members who have a rich experience in teaching and research are sharing their domain knowledge as course teacher and mentor. With the continued efforts of faculty members, more than 100 Doctoral degrees were awarded from this department.  The department has been recognized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), New Delhi and by University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi under FIST programme and SAP-DRS for financial assistance, respectively.
