Overview
To meet the growing demands in the field of Science and Technology in general and Computer Science in particular, the Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2008 under School of Computer Science and Engineering with the objective of imparting knowledge in cutting-edge technologies in Information Technology and Computer Science.
Program Educational Objectives(PEOs)
The PEOs of the Information Technology MSc programme offered at Bharathiar University describe accomplishments that graduates are expected to attain within five to seven years after graduation:
- Be a Software Engineer or Developer either as an individual or as a team player in the Information Technology industry and allied branches providing viable solutions.

- A Pass in B.Sc. Computer Science / B.C.A. / B.Sc. (IT) / B.Sc. (CT).
- The candidates have to pay the Registration Fee of Rs.400/- through net banking / Debit / Credit Cards/DD/NEFT. SC/ST candidates have to pay only Rs.200/- provided they have to produce a photo copy of his/her community certificate. The online filled in application form shall be completed in all respects and the soft copy can be downloaded. Those who are making online payment need not send the hard copy of the application.
