At Sanskrit from Jawaharlal Nehru University students will have an option to join Ph.D. after completing one year course work of 16 credits with minimum grade 'A minus' ( 7 points).

Sanskrit Literature is to be viewed as records of cultural history of India of over five thousand years. It encompasses within it a number of disciplines such as, Grammar, Linguistics, Philosophy, Logic, Aesthetics, Arts, Discourse Analysis and so on, related to various aspects of human life and accumulated through a long span of time.
