Overview
Ever since its inception in 1974, this School has been trying to meet the computing needs of different Schools in JNU and offering specially designed courses for their students.
The teaching is specially designed to integrate inputs from Statistics, Operations Research, Algebra and Combinatories, Digital Electronics, Systems Software, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Architecture, Programming Languages. A training and placement cell has been set up at the School to maintain liason with various government and industrial organizations to facilitate employment for the students.

- After the completion of the Computer Science and Technology course from Jawaharlal Nehru University, the students are fully competent to enter the Global IT- world as well as the fields of Research & Development at prestigious institutions in India and abroad.
- The various programmes offered in the School of Computer and System Sciences are M.C.A.
