About Biophysics at Jamia Millia Islamia
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Sciences was established in the year 2006. The reason for its establishment was a realization of the fact that each modern development in biology has its roots in basic sciences. In order to achieve its goal the Centre has both basic scientists and life scientists as faculty members who are doing research in modern areas of life sciences.
Objectives of MSc Biophysics program at Jamia Millia Islamia:
- To enable students to conduct independent research, industrial activity as well as teaching in specialised educational institutions.
- To prepare research personnel in priority areas such as nonlinear sciences, molecular biology, genomics and proteomics, cellular biotechnologies, regulatory processes, immunology, bioinformatics and mathematical modelling of biological processes.
- To provide extensive lab based teaching and experimental work.

- Self-attested copies of Marks sheet of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree
- Copy of the valid passport of parent working abroad
- Copy of valid working visa /work permit/license to work of parent (duly translated in English and selfattested)
- Copy of valid Residence permit/ Iqama (duly translated in English and self-attested).
- Self-attested copy of the Letter from the employer of the parent abroad (not older than 6 month at the time of admission)
- Self-attested Copy of the NRI Status Certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in the concerned country
- AffidavitonRs.10 stamp paper from the parent for financial support (can be submitted at the time of final admission)
- The candidate has to submit “Anti Ragging Affidavit” from Class 1 Gazetted Officer/Notary
