- A Bachelors degree of at least four years duration or a Bachelors degree followed by an Honours degree. A 65% minimum average is required for entry.
- A supervisor from the Faculty of Health Sciences (usually within the Division of Human Genetics) must be identified and approached prior to application.
- Approval from the respective supervisor and Head of the Division where the student intends to be based is required.
