Overview

The aim of this Biomedical Sciences program is to provide scientific knowledge and state-of-the-art experimental experience to current and emerging biomedical research areas with a focus on translational research and development. 

Quick Facts:

• The IMBS offers a 2-year course for the degree " Magister de la Universidad de Buenos Aires en Ciencies Biomédicas" (Master in Biomedical Sciences) from the University of Buenos Aires and "Master of Science Biomedical Sciences" from the University of Freiburg. 
• The language instruction is English. All of our students have continued in a PhD Program or have achieved attractive positions in academia or industry. 
• Students who have passed the examinations at the end of the IMBS Master (UBA) program with good or excellent results may qualify for direct admission to a PhD project in the same research group as they have completed their Master's thesis. Admission is only possible to the first segment of the program (IMBS Master), not directly to the PhD program.

• The double Master (MSc) degree is given upon successful completion of the program by the University of Buenos Aires and the University of Freiburg. This degree is recognized in all EU countries.
• The IMBS Master given by the University of Buenos Aires and by the University of Freiburg enables graduate students to work in the areas of diagnostics, biomedical research, development and production.

Accreditation

The master course has been 2019 accreditated in Argentina by the National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation (CoNEAU) and 2017 in Germany by Acquin an Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute in Bayreuth.
