Key features
The Master of Fine Arts from Lund University is strongly internationally oriented and prepares students for an international professional career. On completion of the programme, students will have acquired broad and specialised practical and theoretical knowledge and skills for independent work in the varying forms of professional life. Furthermore, students will have acquired the ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner, autonomously reflecting on, formulating and processing artistic issues so as to contribute to the development of knowledge in the field.
The programme is characterised by free choice and independent work, including independent studio work, individual tutoring by internationally active professors and lecturers, and elective courses in artistic techniques, artistic creation and theory. The second half of the programme is devoted to a degree project developing and deepening an independent artistic project. The degree project consists of a solo exhibition and a short essay. The language of instruction is predominantly English.
Career prospects
On completion of the programme, students will have acquired broad and specialised practical and theoretical knowledge and skills for independent work in a variety of professional roles. Furthermore, students will have acquired the ability to work in an independent and self-directed manner, autonomously reflecting on, formulating and processing artistic issues so as to contribute to the development of knowledge in the field. The programme also provides an excellent basis for PhD studies.

General requirements
- A Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts or an equivalent qualification and the general entry requirements for higher education studies in Sweden or the equivalent.
- Students must also have a portfolio of artistic work samples.
- English Level 6 (equivalent to IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90).
