Overview

In this Public Health (Palliative Care Research) from University of Dundee you will focus on relevant research and public health issues relating to palliative care. You'll develop your knowledge of palliative care, including the principles of identifying patients who could benefit from this approach to healthcare, and how research informs the practice of managing common symptoms in palliative care patients. This course takes place at the Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

The university works collaboratively with the Tayside Palliative and End of Life Care Network and the Tayside Specialist Palliative Care Service - you'll benefit from interactions with this network of stakeholders in the palliative care field. Bringing together patients, practitioners, charities and others with an interest or experience in palliative care, these groups are well-placed to share knowledge and guidance for your research. The varied clinical settings throughout Tayside (our local health region) provide an excellent basis for a variety of research projects.

Following the taught component of the course, you'll complete a research project and dissertation that will demonstrate the integrative, analytical and critical skills you've gained, and allow you to explore an area of interest in palliative care in more detail.
