Overview

The internship programme is designed for Master of Science in International Integrated Resort Management from University of Macau students who have no prior working experience in the hospitality sector. The aim of this programme is to allow these students to get familiar with the hospitality work settings and better prepare them for their chosen career path after graduation. Students undergoing the internship will be based in a company whose focus is cognate with the gaming and hospitality industry.

Learning outcomes

Students from Master of Science in International Integrated Resort Management will be equipped to:

Demonstrate an awareness of issues in integrated resorts from an international perspective.

Formulate organizational strategies for integrated resorts.

Effectively communicate with guests and colleagues in the hospitality and gaming industry.

Locate and extract relevant information from available resources and translate them into research data.

Identify research problems pertaining to the hospitality and gaming industry and develop a research design to solve the problems.

Interpret and analyze relevant professional and academic literature.

Analyze primary and secondary data from the hospitality and gaming industry by using appropriate analytical tools.

An applicant of a Master’s degree programme must possess a Bachelor’s degree or academic background recognized as equivalent by the University of Macau.

An applicant may also be required to possess other knowledge or professional experience.

Funding

The Scholarship is granted for the normal period of study, with its continuation from year to year subject to a successful annual review of the awardee’s satisfactory academic performance.

Type A Scholarship:

100% waiver of Master’s Degree Programme tuition fee

100% waiver of on-campus accommodation fee (shared bedroom)

Half teaching assistantship (MOP 4,000/month)

Type B Scholarship:

100% waiver of Master’s Degree Programme tuition fee

Type C Scholarship:

International tuition differential waiver (awardees pay the local student tuition rate)
