Overview

The Pathology and Pathophysiology at Jilin University has been developing and expanding continuously. In 1978, the Department became one of the first to be authorized to confer master's degrees. In 1993, it was approved by the State Council to confer doctor's degrees. In 1994, the discipline was rated as the key discipline of Jilin Province. In 1995, it became the constituent discipline of the postdoctoral mobile station of basic medicine. In 2002 , the Depepartment was rated as the second-level laboratory of TCM scientific research by Jilin Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 

Key facts

Due to the remarkable achievements in prostate cancer research, the Research Center for Prevention and Treatment of Prostate Disease of Jilin University was established in 2002 with the approval of Jilin University as a branch attached to the Basic Medical College. In 2007, it was approved by Jilin Provincial Development and Reform Commission as the "Natural Drug Pharmacology, Efficacy and Application Development Engineering Research Center". In 2011, it was approved as the key laboratory of pathology and pathophysiology by the Department of Health of Jilin Province. In 2019, as the main member and experimental animal center, the Department became the Continuing Education Base of Experimental Animal Talents of Jilin Province approved by the Chinese association for Laboratory Animal Sciences.
