Key Facts
School of Political Science and Public Administration(SPSPA) of Shandong University founded in 1960,covers 2 general academic subjects: political science and public management. Now, the SPSPA has 4 academic departments--Political Science, International Politics, Public Administration and Scientific Socialism, and 9 research centers, including Institute of Contemporary Socialism, Center for European Studies, Institute of Asia-Pacific Studies, Institute of Political Party and Institute of Public Policy. At present, there are 92 full-time members, among them are 72 teaching staffs including 29 professors, 29 associate professors and 14 lecturers.
The China Studies program Shandong University at has made remarkable achievements in this regard in recent years. Over the past years, the SPSPA has established its leading position in China as well as abroad in areas of specialties such as Chinese Political Thoughts, European Politics and Society, Environment Politics, Regional Politics, Party Politics and Contemporary Socialism Study.

General requirements
- Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good physical and mental health and possess a valid foreign passport;
- Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent.
- Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit the results of the IELTS (6.0 or above), TOEFL (80 points or above or other equivalent certificates of English proficiency.
- The biographic page of your passport
- Transcripts of all courses taken when pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
- Two recommendation letters by professors or assistant professors.
- A letter of motivation in Chinese or English.
- Foreigner Physical Examination Form.
- No criminal record certificate.
- Statement of Financial Support through a Guarantor and its supporting documents.
- Proof of employment (if applicable).
- Abstract(s) of essay(s)/graduation thesis/a list of publications (if applicable).
