Overview
All teachers within the Biomedicine programme from Lund University are active researchers and all project courses are given in their research laboratories.
You will be trained to perform independent medical research within academic institutions or the life-science industry. You will acquire the tools to be able to work in a global context, through student-centred teaching activities and practical training in an international environment.
Career prospects
The majority of our graduates progress to PhD studies at Lund University or other national and international research institutions. Other graduates work in the life-science industry with tasks involving patents, clinical trials, medical writing or research. Many of our former students are today PI’s (Principal Investigators) within academic research institution or hold leading positions in industry.

General requirements
- A Bachelor's degree of at least 180 credits in biomedicine, biotechnology, cell and molecular biology or molecular medicine, including an independent biomedical research project. The degree must include basic chemistry and biochemistry, cell biology, immunology, genetics, microbiology, human physiology and molecular medicine. English 6/English Course B.
- An assessment is made of the quality of the applicants previous studies, relevant professional or research experience and stated reasons for applying to the programme. Applicants are to fill in and submit a Master s in Biomedicine profile and all merits must be certified with supporting documentation.
