Overview

At Environmental Engineering at COMSATS University Islamabad there is a research project in the last semester of the program in which the students apply their learning in consolidation. The program focuses on the attainment of environmental excellence in civil engineering projects and thereby to deliver improved environmental performance in project specification, design and construction. Closely aligned with industry's needs, this MS degree aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to equip them for a career in environmental engineering. 

The course at COMSATS University Islamabad prepares students to think and act holistically with regard to environmental and sustainability issues, by developing their ability to make sound judgments in relation to the built and natural environments, while meeting the principles of sustainability.

Objectives

The overall objective of the program is to provide advanced education and training for graduates in engineering, science, and related areas to meet current and future needs of environmental engineering in the region. The program emphasizes on providing engineers with an in-depth understanding of the technical, economic and managerial factors and their integration in the specification, design and operation of environmental engineering systems. 

The MS in Environmental Engineering build an important foundation, with a variety of topics including the modeling and analysis of hydrological systems, atmospheric physics and chemistry, pollution transport, and the impact of environmental pollution on human health. Specialized course topics in water supply, and Industrial and Hazardous Waste Management are also offered. The graduates of this program have career in the most demanding industry.
