Overview

You’ll be taught by tutors with academic and professional experience. The Criminal Justice programme from University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) will develop your ability to understand the Criminal Justice System (CJS) at a conceptual and operational level, incorporating UK and international perspectives.

You’ll analyse social, economic and political influences, including youth, race, gender and the media, to explore how different societies attempt to control crime and offenders. Optional modules will enable you to advance your critical analytical skills in the fields of international criminal law, terrorism, open source Internet investigation and multi-agency Early Action Partnerships.

Future careers

This programme could develop your career into the diverse field of Criminal Justice or the security industry.

The Criminal Justice graduates either complete the course for personal professional development in their current position, and continue with enhanced career prospects, or seek new positions within the UK and international criminal justice context. Such careers include working in the fields of policing, HMPS, victim support services and other third sector organisations.
