The Veterinary Physiotherapy course from University of Liverpool is recognised by the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Animal Therapy (ACPAT) as an upgrading route for ‘Category A’ membership.
Key Features
- In order to be awarded the MSc in Veterinary Physiotherapy, students must successfully complete the above six modules, plus a Research Project. Full time students will complete the research project module concurrently with their PgDip modules. Part time students will complete the research project module in an additional year of part time study.
- Full time students will complete the research project module concurrently with their PgDip modules. This will include supervisor meetings and project work depending on the project.
- Part time students will complete the research project module in an additional year of part time study. Depending on the country of study and access to an appropriate local ethical review committee, there may be some limitations to the range of research options available.

- Academic achievement of 2.1.
- Applicants wishing to apply who have only achieved 2.2 will be considered on a case by case basis.
- Eligibility for registration with the Health Professions Council (or equivalent Physiotherapists Registration Board for international delegates)
- References from a veterinarian and a physiotherapist (human or animal) in support of the applicant's suitability for the programme.
- If the applicant is from a country where English is not the first Language they will be required to show evident of attainment of English at a minimum IELTS score of 7 or equivalent
- Recognition of Prior Learning Policy arrangements will be applicable, as long as the prior learning represents equivalent modules and learning outcomes.
- Recommended work experience: One year clinical physiotherapy practice.
