Overview
The Drug Discovery and Development program from Uppsala University prepares you to work with drug development in its various phases. It is possible to choose elective courses based on your own interest in, for example, the following subjects: medicinal chemistry, drug development in biological systems, drug formulation and delivery.
The development of new drugs is a highly challenging undertaking that requires both broad and specialist knowledge across a range of scientific areas. All courses within the programme have a focus on drugs and their development and discovery.

Other requirements
General requirements
A Bachelor's degree, equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, from an internationally recognised university.
Also required is 15 credits in pharmacology and physiology, as well as 15 credits in general and organic chemistry.
Students are selected based on:
- a total appraisal of quantity and quality of previous university studies; and
- a statement of purpose (1 page).
