The Systems Engineering programme offered at University of South-Eastern Norway is designed for people who have just completed a bachelor’s degree programme and do not have a job. You will have a temporary paid part-time job in a company, in parallel to your studies. 

Overview

Systems engineering is a recognized method of developing systems in the car and oil industries, and in computing, networking, communications and research and development. With a master’s degree in Systems Engineering, you will be qualified to participate in and lead the development of large complex products and systems that require the involvement of many disciplines.

What you will learn

Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary master’s degree programme which focuses on how to design and manage complex engineering systems throughout the life cycle of products. Systems engineering is the ultimate tool for the rapid translation of knowledge into competitive products and services.

The master’s programme consists of systems engineering subjects and elective subjects. The area you choose to specialize in will depend on your professional background, your current job, what your employer needs and what jobs you might like to do in the future.

You can choose to specialize in the following areas: Systems Engineering, Subsea Engineering, Embedded Systems, Business and Management, Industrial Domain and Product Development. Other specializations at other colleges or universities are also possible for our students.

To be admitted to the Industry Master’s Programme in Systems Engineering, two criteria must be met:

  • Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering with a cumulative grade point average of C or above
  • Applicants must be offered a job in a relevant high-tech company suitable for the Industry Master’s Programme.
