Overview
Quantum engineering is a new field at the interface of quantum physics, electrical engineering, and IT. It exploits the laws of quantum physics to develop technologies outperforming classical engineering approaches. Quantum technologies will fundamentally change classical engineering paradigms in computing, information processing, and measurement technology.
Course Overview
The first two semesters of the Quantum Engineering program at ETH Zurich - Swiss Federal Institute of Technology are devoted to classroom course work. The main focus during the second semester is a semester project, the first independent research project. The industry intership, which can be substituted by a Quantech Workshops, will follow. During the third semester, students finish remaining coursework.
The fourth semester is fully reserved for the final Master's Thesis. Topics for research projects can be found on the websites of the institutes and laboratories associated with the QE program.
