Politecnico di Torino designed the ICT for Smart Societies Master of Science degree as an interdisciplinary project to train engineers that will lead this smart revolution and shape the societies of the future. 


ICT for Smart Societies is an innovative degree offered by Politecnico di Torino, which has been designed from scratch to satisfy job market requirements on newly graduated engineers.


  • ICT4SS prepares engineers with an innovative interdisciplinary profile.
  • It combines methodologies and applications, with specific focus on big data and information technologies, including their management, analytics, distribution/delivery and optimization, as well as sensors and interconnection of complex networks and systems.
  • Theoretical and practical ICT competencies are applied to key application domains: energy, transport systems, building design, health, and environment.
  • Focus is given to practical laboratories activities and projects.
  • Double degree and ERASMUS opportunities are available.

General Requirements

  • hold a Bachelor degree awarded by an accredited foreign university.
  • In case you are enrolled in a “single cycle” Laurea magistrale course (5 or 6 years degree program) and you have not yet graduated, you must have completed minimum 3 years at University level, having obtained at least 180 ECTS credits or equivalent. In case you obtained the high school diploma after 10 or 11 years of schooling, you must also have completed at least 15 years of previous education.
