The Transcultural Studies. Literature and Language Contact Within the Francophone Area degree course from Heidelberg University therefore focuses on variants of French language and culture, as well as literary traditions. The degree programme takes an integral perspective to consider the entirety of the world’s francophone territories; from France to francophone parts of Africa, to Québec.

During the course of study, an emphasis is placed on literary, cultural and linguistic expressions of francophone culture and transcultural studies which have arisen as a result of transcultural contact phenomena within the francophone area.

Proof of previous achievements in the Master's degree programme

Students applying for a transfer or change of institution from a non-German university must also submit: a certificate of transferable grades from the relevant subject area

Statement of sufficient financing for completion of the course of study. This does not apply for applications from EU/EEA member states and applicants with a German university entrance qualification.

Uncertified copy of the applicant’s passport (page with name in Latin script). Applicants from EU/EEA member states may alternatively submit a copy of their personal identity card.

For applicants with certificates from Vietnam, the People's Republic of China and India: Original of the APS certificate from the relevant Academic Examination Body.
