As a special feature, the master's program in Korean Studies offers a second major in addition to the monomaster , in which a double master can be acquired.
Profile of the course
The Korean Studies program from University of Tübingen offers a master's degree with a high level of specialist and language skills. The students focus on central subject areas of the history, society and culture of modern Korea, whereby central subject areas include globalization, colonialism, the Cold War and division, migration and diaspora as well as popular culture and literature. The critical examination of the Korean Peninsula, its location and embedding in a regional and global context opens up a variety of perspectives.
There are currently three professors available as supervisors for the students in the three main areas of history, society and culture.
The graduates also achieve a high level of Korean language skills at level C1/C2 GER (TOPIK Level 6). In addition to the accompanying modules on the Korean scientific language, working with Korean specialist literature and/or sources is a prerequisite in every advanced seminar.Programme Structure

- Bachelor's degree in Korean Studies or in a comparable subject with a final grade of at least 2.5
- Proof of Korean language skills at the level of intermediate level B2 GER or TOPIK Level 4
- English language skills are required at level B2/C1 GER.
