The Master's Program Korean Studies is a consecutive degree program that deals with the history, culture and society of modern Korea in a regional and global context.
The University of Tübingen offers a master's degree with a high level of specialist and language skills. The students focus on key topics of the history, society and culture of modern Korea, focusing on globalization, colonialism, Cold War and division, migration and diaspora, and popular culture and literature. The critical examination of the Korean peninsula, its positioning and its integration into a regional and global context open up manifold perspectives.
The graduates also achieve a high level of Korean language proficiency level C1 / C2 GER (TOPIK level 6). In addition to the accompanying modules on the Korean language of science, each major seminar requires working with Korean specialist literature and / or sources.
The master's program enables students to enter a wide range of professional fields in which language, culture and country skills related to Korea are in demand. Perspectives in industry and business, diplomacy, media and cultural institutions are opened. Practical skills are deepened through internships and practical projects.
