Overview
The Occupational Therapy program at the University of Sydney is designed for students who wish to become professional occupational therapists and would like to work as health professionals in a variety of settings.
The Master of Occupational Therapy is a postgraduate coursework degree with the vision of producing global citizens who take a collaborative, critical and strength-based approach to promoting health, well-being and engagement for people as occupational beings. This will include mastering skills to enable people with disabilities, recovering from injury or with ongoing conditions, to overcome barriers and identifying alternative techniques to do what they want to do.
Career paths
Occupational therapists frequently work in teams with other health professionals in a variety of settings such as:

- rehabilitation centres
- private practices
- occupational health providers
- community centres
- schools
- nursing homes and private homes.
Within these settings they contribute in a variety of ways such as through early intervention, health promotion, education, consultancy, industry, primary health, environmental design and accessibility, advocacy services, non-government agencies, housing services and palliative care.

- A bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD from an Australian institution or equivalent.
- A minimum average mark of 60 out of 100 or equivalent. This does not guarantee an offer as the places are limited and offers are made based on academic merit.
- Evidence of any other minimum standards specified by the Faculty of Medicine and Health.
- If English is not your first language, you may be able to prove English proficiency with an approved English skills test taken within 2 years of commencing the course.
