The study program enables students to work on tasks in various fields of application in close cooperation with medicine under given technical, economic and social boundary conditions using the means of computer science, to develop corresponding systems and to manage projects.

Programme Structure
In the four-semester course of study of the Master's program in Medical Informatics, a total of 120 ECTS is acquired. The fourth semester of the program is reserved for the completion of the master's thesis.
The program consists of the modules "Advanced Medical Informatics", "Advanced Bioinformatics", "Medical Informatics Seminar", "Research Project in Medical Informatics" and the final module. In addition, there are the three profiles for
- Students who have a bachelor's degree in medical informatics or bioinformatics (option A)
- Students who have a bachelor's degree in medical technology, biology or a related subject (variant B) or
- Students who have a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related subject (Variant C).

Admission to the master's program is open to students who have passed the examination in a bachelor's degree program in medical informatics or a comparable subject such as bioinformatics, computational biology or computer science, or who have a comparable university degree of at least six semesters and have passed the university final examination with a grade of at least 2.5.
