The International Law program at the University of Sydney prepares you for professional work and academic research in the fields of public international law and international policy by equipping you with skills and knowledge to negotiate the legal and policy issues affecting relations between states; between states and international organisations; and between states and individuals. 

Overview

The International Law program at the University of Sydney offers you the opportunity to complete an optional International Law Research Project, worth the equivalent of two units of study. An acknowledged leader in international law, Sydney Law School offers a unique program allowing combination of core areas with a variety of specialisations.

Career Pathways

The Master of International Law (MIL) is designed for lawyers or non-lawyers who wish to upgrade their qualification(s) for the purposes of career advancement or professional and academic interest.

Sydney Law School offers three higher degrees by research: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Master of Laws by research (LLM) and Master of Criminology by research (MCrim).

Admission to candidature for the Master of International Law requires: a) a bachelor's degree with a minimum credit average from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; or b) a bachelor's degree from the University of Sydney, or an equivalent qualification; and the applicant provides evidence of two years of relevant professional experience.
