The Power Engineering program at the University of Sydney is ideal for qualified engineers seeking to move into a management role or to specialise or update their skills.
What you’ll study
The Master of Engineering (Power Engineering) is a postgraduate coursework degree that will help you develop specialised technical knowledge in power engineering, and learn about designing and maintaining power systems.
You will complete core professional engineering units and specialist units in power engineering, in addition to a capstone comprising either a research project or a dissertation.
You will also complete elective units as needed to make up the requirements of the course.

- an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline with a credit average (65 percent) or equivalent qualification, or
- an Australian Bachelor of Engineering degree in the relevant discipline or equivalent, and five years relevant professional work experience, or
- the relevant University of Sydney Graduate Diploma in Engineering or Graduate Certificate in Engineering with a credit average (65 percent).
- If English is not your first language, you may be able to prove English proficiency with an approved English skills test taken within 2 years of commencing the course.
