Overview

The Nuclear Power Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology of the studies is based on advanced theory and engineering methods. Students learn about recent achievements in the field of nuclear power and the methods and tools that prepare them for taking managing positions in industry, or to undertake research activities. 

Special attention is given to modelling and simulation methods and codes. The program is realised in close collaboration with foreign and national universities, research institutes and companies, and is supported by visiting professors and industrial specialists. 

The last semester of the 4-semester study is devoted to a research based internship at a nuclear installation, directly connected with the preparation of the master diploma thesis.

Career

Graduates of Nuclear Power Engineering receive profound education in the area of nuclear reactor physics, nuclear reactor modelling and simulation, nuclear instrumentation and control, contemporary and future nuclear reactor systems, and nuclear power plant safety, operation and maintenance. 

They are prepared for creative work and research in the field of design, operation and control of nuclear power and other nuclear installations, as well as of classical power and related installations. This work could be focused on energy conversion processes in power machines and equipment, conducting modernisation of systems and facilities, implementation of new technologies, establishing small enterprises and their management.

Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

English requirements

IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at desiganated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.
PTE admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

  • Bachelor Degree Diploma - in the original language and translation to English. Remember we require a Bachelor Degree in a very similar field to the M.Sc. program you are applying to. The Diploma should be final, however, we accept also provisional and temporary ones.
