  • An Actuary is a professional expert in the financial assessment of real life situations of individuals and companies that might result in damages and losses or simply to undesirable results or uncertainties. These being RISK situations.
  • The programme is particularly geared towards students who have completed higher education courses in Finance and Insurance. This, by way of example, applying to graduates in Economy, Business Administration and Management or Business Studies as well as those holding degrees in Economic and Business Sciences. 
  • The master’s degree is similarly designed to suit holders of equivalent or potentially new degrees in Business Administration and Management, Economy, Finance and Insurance, Finance and Accounts, etc.

Programme Structure

  • There are no regulated bridging courses. However, based on the background degree and the training of the student, the Master's CCA may demand from the student to prove having enough competences and knowledge in Economics, Finances, Statistics and Mathematics, of equivalent level to the demanded standards in the basic subjects of the degrees that allow access to the master's degree with the suitable profile (higher studies related to Economics).
  • The CCA, together with a supervisor, will agree on the forms and periods in which this knowledge can be acquired, without its achievement being a requisite for admission. The demands above mentioned will be materialised in the requirement of a complementary effort in specific subjects of the master's degree.

  • Official Spanish university degree.
  • Foreign higher education degree officially recognised as equivalent to an official Spanish university degree.
  • Degree awarded by a higher education institution that is part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) which allows access to official master’s degree courses in the country in which it was awarded.
  • Degree awarded by a higher education institution that is not part of the EHEA. In this case, access is conditional upon the verification that the course of study completed corresponds to a level of education equivalent to an official Spanish university degree and that the qualification obtained would provide admission to an official master’s degree in the country of award. Admission following this process under no circumstances implies the official recognition of the degree or its acceptance for any other purpose except admission to the master’s degree course.
