Students have access to studios, research facilities, and faculty across a range of disciplines within the Visual Arts program and beyond through the broad Memorial University network. There are further residency opportunities through Memorial’s other campuses and locations in St. John’s, Norris Point, Labrador, and Harlow (UK).
Grenfell Campus is located in Corner Brook, on Elmastukwek/Bay of Islands, in traditional Mi’kmaw territory. The Grenfell MFA delivers a blended learning/low residency program that can be completed in five or six semesters over a two-year period of study.
Grenfell Campus at Memorial University of Newfoundland, is launching the first Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts in Newfoundland and Labrador. Our campus is located in Corner Brook, on Elmastukwek/Bay of Islands, in traditional Mi’kmaw territory. The largest city in the region, Corner Brook is a service centre for Western and Northern Newfoundland.
Programme Structure
- Guided by our active faculty and Memorial University’s progressive model for distance and blended learning, we provide a flexible course of study tailored to the student’s individual area of research, incorporating both critical theory and practice-based research.
