Overview

The Landscape Architecture programme at the University of British Columbia provides an accredited professional education focused on the design of urban and natural terrains. This intensive curriculum integrates creative design studios with technical site analysis and environmental management. Students develop a unique professional identity through specialised electives and a comprehensive graduation project.

Why Landscape Architecture at the University of British Columbia?

Students benefit from a low student-to-faculty ratio and direct access to a research library ranked among the finest in Canada. The School of Architecture & Landscape Architecture hosts a public lecture series, connecting learners with local professional affiliates and global design discourses. Additionally, the Faculty of Applied Science offers interdisciplinary links to engineering and regional planning experts.

The programme emphasises practical experience through credited internships at established firms and agencies. These opportunities allow students to refine their documentation and design development skills while building a robust professional network. Study abroad options further enrich the experience by exploring international cultural concerns in the built environment.
