MSc graduates in Civil Engineering are responsible for the planning, design, risk assessment, construction, and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure, and entire cities.
This challenge requires profound knowledge and understanding of a number of different areas - including roads, railways, bridges and tunnels, houses, load-bearing structures and facades, heating, lighting, acoustics and fire safety, water supply, drains and sewers, canals, harbours and offshore structures as well as urban planning.

To be admitted to a Master's degree program at DTU you must be either:
- bachelor's degree in technical science or
- diploma engineer or
- bachelor in science.
The bachelor degree must be less than 10 years old.
The individual MSc Eng programme states in detail which bachelor programmes qualify and whether applicants have to complete supplementary educational activities.
Requirements for supplementary educational activities can equate to up to 30 ECTS credits and are specified in the form of a list of courses under the individual MSc Eng programmes.
