Overview

Following on from the success of our industry-led part-time online MSc in Biopharmaceutical Science we have developed a one-year full time MSc and PGC. These new programmes are intended to increase the skills and knowledge base of those with an interest in the Biopharmaceutical Industry and to increase the pool of such people available to the industry. The courses are designed to provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of the principal scientific and engineering challenges in the manufacturing of biopharmaceutical products, thereby making them highly employable within the Biotechnology, Biopharmaceutical and Medical Biotechnology Industries.

Careers

Graduates of Bioprocessing from the Atlantic Technological University are typically employed in managerial positions in Scientific, Operations and Quality Assurance / Control positions in the Biopharmaceutical and Medical Biotechnology industry sectors both within Ireland and abroad. Post-graduates may also find employment more broadly within the Healthcare sector, medical device industries and in areas of Research and Development.

The programme is open to students who have obtained an honours degree (Level 8) or equivalent in an appropriate discipline (i.e. Engineering or Life Sciences). Other candidates with alternative honours degrees and relevant experience in the Biopharmaceutical industry (typically 5 years duration in a GMP environment) may apply for consideration through the ATU Sligo RPL (Recognised Prior Learning) process.
